The Glam 360 Photo Booth: A Dynamic Outdoor Choice with the Right Preparation
The Glam 360 photo booth is one of our most popular options for outdoor events, thanks to its engaging and dynamic setup.
This booth allows guests to step onto a platform and create stunning, full-circle videos that capture every angle, and when done outdoors, it often captures the awesome scenery in the background.
However, outdoor venues can present some challenges, especially when it comes to uneven or soft surfaces like grass.
To counteract this, we provide a transportable hard surface to ensure the Glam 360 photo booth remains stable and performs optimally on spongy grass or uneven terrain. However, if the terrain is too uneven, unfortunately there are no tools we have that can counteract this.
While the 360 video booth can be a fantastic choice for outdoor settings, it’s important to consider the weather, and how this will affect both the equipment - and most importantly - the safety of the guests and operators.
This booth can handle mild outdoor conditions, but the equipment (electronics, computers, and camera) is not designed to operate in harsh direct sunlight and wet weather conditions, not to mention the safety issues with guests being subject to heat and standing on a slippery platform.
But if the weather is fine and it's the late afternoon or night, there is where The Glam 360 Booth produces some of the best videos we have ever seen. And the setups look amazing!
If you're planning an event where the weather might be unpredictable, we recommend choosing a more sheltered location, providing a cover such as a Marquee Tent, or opting for another one of our booths better suited for the weather elements.
The Sky 360 Photo Booth: Versatility with Limitations
The Sky 360 photo booth offers a similar 360-degree experience with a sleek design, making it a great option for large events where you can take 360 videos of more guests at a time.
It can be set up outdoors, but there are some caveats to consider.
While the Sky 360 photo booth can handle light outdoor conditions, it doesn’t perform well in strong winds (the rotating arms are generally not as strong mechanically as the platform booths), and the equipment will corrupt in the wet and direct heat, which affects both the stability of the booth, the quality of the videos and the equipment itself.
And like the Glam 360, consideration must be afforded to the guests and operators being subject to such conditions. Safety first! 😊
But if the event is in the late afternoon or night, and weather conditions are OK, the Sky 360 is a terrific option for having outdoors. We've done it several times with fantastic results.
If your outdoor event location will be potentially exposed to the elements (who can predict the weather in advance when making a booking), it’s essential to have a backup plan or Plan B in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.
The Roaming Booth: Perfectly Tailored for Outdoor Events
For those looking for maximum flexibility and mobility, the Roaming Photo Booth is the ideal choice for outdoor events.
This booth isn't fixed to a specific location, allowing our friendly attendants to roam around your event, capturing spontaneous and candid moments.
The Roaming Booth is not only versatile but also weather-resistant to a certain degree, making it perfect for outdoor settings where guests are spread out or where there’s a lot of movement and interaction.
Since it doesn’t require a stable surface or specific setup, the Roaming Booth can adapt to almost any environment, whether it’s a sunny park, a beach, or a backyard.
However, it’s still important to consider weather conditions like extreme heat or rain, as these can adversely affect the equipment, our attendants and the guests.
Our Mirror Photo Booths: Indoor Gems
While many of our booths can be adapted for outdoor use, our Mirror Photo Booths are strictly an indoor product, or at the very least, under cover.
These elegant, interactive mirror booths add a touch of sophistication to any event, with its stylish design and high-quality photo features.
However, due to its sensitivity to weather conditions and its need for a controlled environment, it’s best suited for indoor venues and under cover where weather and wind are not factors.
360 Video Booths: Keep an Eye on the Weather
While 360 booths can sometimes be used outdoors, they are not suitable for high temperatures or stormy weather.
Direct heat can and does cause technical issues with the equipment, while rain or high winds can damage sensitive components.
If you’re considering a video booth for your outdoor event and it happens to be during the day, it’s crucial to ensure a shaded, sheltered area is available, or to have a backup indoor location prepared.
And if you want to have the 360 outside at night, this is perfectly fine as long as it's not raining.
Choosing the Right Photo Booth for Your Outdoor Event
When planning an outdoor event, selecting the right photo booth is key to ensuring both functionality and a great guest experience.
We have done plenty of outdoor events, and generally if it's not raining and the event is in the late afternoon or night, our photo booths are perfectly fine operating out in the open.
And if the events are during the day, a Marquee or tent will do the trick at protecting against the elements.
